Environmental Films Australia is a volunteer-run not-for-profit, based in Naarm (Melbourne), that promotes climate action through cinema, community and connection.
Previously known as Environmental Film Festival Australia, we prioritise climate and environments through film, provide platforms for artists to showcase their work, and create space for people to connect and exchange solutions.
Our program navigates the relationship between humans and their environments and interrogates the way people think about the natural world. We feature films from the world’s most talented and socially-conscious filmmakers, embracing diversity and championing local, Indigenous, minority and creative voices.
We’ve been running since 2010, starting out as a weekend screening event in Palace Kino (as Environmental Film Festival Melbourne) and have since hosted festivals and events throughout Australia and online.
We also work with organisations and groups to host environmental film events of their own. If you’re interested in hosting a screening, please get in touch.
